Document processing
We built a text-invoice processor with field extraction, validation, corrections, human review and working CSV/JSON downloads. Run it with sample data.
AUTHORSHIP / RUNNING CODE
Designed and built by BuildZn.
BuildZn-designed and implemented browser workflow. Run the code here, inspect the implementation and compare the actual outputs. Automated tests exercise successful inputs, review gates and failure cases.
THE ORIGINAL TASK
Invoice fields are copied into a sheet. Missing details and incorrect totals must be caught before the data moves on.
What we built
We built text-field extraction, editable corrections, date and total validation, a review gate and real CSV/JSON downloads. Run it below, including the mismatched-total case. PDF/OCR and accounting connections are separate production work.
ACTUAL SAMPLE OUTPUT / FICTIONAL DATA
See the result before trying it.
Invoice: DEMO-1042 Supplier: Sample Paper Co Subtotal: USD 240.00 Tax: USD 24.00 Total: USD 264.00 Validation: Field and arithmetic checks passed Export: CSV or JSON after human review.Download the actual reviewed sample output ↗
Generated from the same sample inputs and deterministic functions used below. Built by BuildZn; these are sample outputs, not customer results. Try the steps to inspect the fields, review gates and exceptions.
Run the implementation we built: local parsing, source matching, validation and review gates. Responses use templates. No live AI model, paid account or external connection. Use sample data only; inputs stay in this page and are cleared on reload.
01 / Sample invoice
Text extraction in the shown format. No PDF upload, OCR or model call.
02 / Validate & correct
Extract the invoice to inspect and correct its fields.
03 / Review & export
Compare extracted values with the source invoice before approving. Validation does not establish authenticity or accounting correctness.
Export stays blocked until validation passes and review is confirmed. Changing a field clears approval.
THE PROBLEM
Where the work gets stuck.
Copying invoice fields into a spreadsheet can hide missing data or incorrect totals. Extraction needs validation and review before export.
Try the workflow
- Load or edit a fictional invoice
- Extract supplier, invoice number, date and amounts
- Try a mismatched total and correct the fields
- Review the result and download CSV or JSON
Technical scope
Text invoice parsing, required-field and arithmetic checks, editable extracted fields, explicit review and CSV/JSON export.
The decision that matters
Extraction is only the first step. Missing values and mismatched totals must block export until corrected and reviewed.
Inspect the evidence
Our workflow logic, React interface and executable checks are public in BuildZn’s website repository. The interactive workflow runs this code; the sample outputs and screenshots come from it.
